Each file is prepared for scanning by removing staples, paper clips etc from the file.
The documents are scanned, normally to an Adobe PDF of TIFF multi page book format
The electronic file is indexed (named) normally using the reference located on the file spine
The paper records are either destroyed or documents placed in a bag within the file.
The documents are returned or destroyed.
