Solar power reimbursement?

Question asked by Catherine Huggins - Jul 12, 2013

How much money do I get per unit when I sell the surplus of electricity to the national grid?

Under the UK government's Feed In Tariff scheme your electricity provider will pay you a set rate for each kilowatt of power you generate with your solar panels, and additional money for any excess power generated and returned to the national grid. Check with your energy provider to find out how much you can get for selling electricity generated by your solar panels to the national grid. And while you're at it, seek out information from other energy suppliers to see if you could get a better deal. The energy market is very competitive and now is a great time to switch to a new supplier. Start by asking for quotes. You might be surprised at how much you could save.
