Do you have any tips for keeping an office espresso machine in good working order?
Most breakdowns that occur with espresso machines used in offices, restaurants and cafés are due to a lack of proper care and cleaning. Running water through your coffee machine leads to mineral buildup over time. Many professional coffee machine suppliers will require the installation of water softening units in line with the water source for your machine. You can also avoid rapid mineral buildup by using distilled water in your espresso machine and avoiding tap water if possible. Another way to remove mineral deposits is to flush your system with a solution of white vinegar and water. After doing so you should flush it again with plain water to remove any possible vinegar taste with future use. Blockages can also occur in the frothing wand and brew heads, which you can dismantle and soak them in warm soapy water and clean with Q-tips and cloths.
