How much does a POS system cost?

The price of a till greatly varies from one model to another. It depends, of course, on the level of technology used but also on the peripherals and the software which come with it. While the cheapest basic tills can be found between £100 and £600, a touchscreen POS terminal may cost up to £900, and even up to £3,000 if the Point of Sale systems comes with many peripherals and fully set up software of the latest generation installed.

Integrated solutions are priced between £1,000 and £2,000, while packages can be found at £1,800. 

Second-hand equipment, which can be found online or at specialised resellers, may be recommended for smaller budgets. Refurbished equipment, sold at 65% to 75% of the price is another option. 

VAT adds 20% to the price of any model of any POS system.
