Do all mobile network operators offer the same network coverage?

Not quite, as MNOs (Mobile Network Operators) do not have the same number of relay antennas, and these antennas are not always located in the same areas.

The Ofcom has made it easy to check which carrier provides network coverage for any given postcode on a dedicated website with their “broadband and mobile coverage checker”, at https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/advice/ofcom-checker

With their “Connected Nations” reports, the Ofcom also provides yearly in-depth analysis of the network coverage and capabilities of all UK Mobile Network Operators, which are EE, O2, Vodafone and Three.

Latest data shows that in 2018, for example, 4G geographic network coverage in Wales varied between under 70% (O2) and over 80% (EE), or under 58% in Scotland (O2 and Three) to over 70% (EE), whereas all MNOs offer more or less the same geographic network coverage in England (around 90%).

You may also download free apps which can give you detailed information on network coverage in chosen areas.
