What is a company fleet of mobile phones?

A fleet of mobile phones is the sum of all mobile phones used by the employees of a company, grouped together by a common telephone subscription, sometimes called a shared plan.

Several management methods are possible.

For example, the company can decide to allocate 50 or 100 hours per month in talk time for all mobile phones. The account manager in the company uses a fleet management tool which allows him or her to monitor consumption or even share and manage call minutes according to individual needs.

Building up a fleet of mobile phones is often much more interesting than taking out multiple individual subscriptions. In fact, by creating a fleet, the company can benefit from negotiated rates while optimising costs related to mobile communications.

Invoicing can be done on a proven basis (minutes actually consumed), on an adjustable or on a flat-rate basis. It is sometimes possible to split the invoice between the employer and the employee.

Note that progressive volume discounts on the prices of mobile phone plans are applied depending on the size of the fleet.
