How to connect a cash drawer and customer pole display to a till?

If the cash drawer comes with a connection cable, it has to be plugged into the back of the receipt printer. When there is no printer, the cash drawer needs to be connected directly to the till with a USB adapter so that it can be recognised by the POS software.

The customer pole display displays the price and/or marketing messages during checkout. It too needs to be plugged onto the printer’s power supply and directly connected to a computer, with a 24V power cable and a RS232 serial cable.

It is also possible to connect the display to a POS system through a USB port.
