Do water dispensers only dispense chilled water?

If water coolers are especially sought after during warm summer months to dispense chilled water, some models may be used any time during the year as they also dispense hot water used to prepare several types of drinks. They are then more logically called “water dispensers”.

Still, many businesses only considered the chilled water dispensing features. Bottled water coolers are usually preferred by businesses on a budget, as they tend to be cheaper. But they also make it possible to change the type or make of water frequently, almost as often as the type and make of cups. Plumbed-in water coolers are an interesting alternative, with water cooled down to a temperature near 10 degrees Celsius “on demand”.

However, choosing the right water cooler type is not really an issue as long as hot water is concerned, as both bottled water coolers and plumbed-in water coolers now may also dispense hot water. Equipped with thermostats, temperature selectors, or at least with distinct taps, they provide hot water for making tea, coffee, or soups. Some hot and cold water dispensers may even be used to make sparkling water when they accept CO² cartridges.

The price of these water dispensers therefore depends on several aspects which go further than the mere “hot water feature”:

  • Water heating time, it can be instant or require a very quick preheating,
  • Number of precise water temperatures which can be selected, from 10 to 100 degrees,
  • Distinct taps for hot and cold water,
  • Water tank size.

The price of cold and hot water dispensers is usually found to be between £200 and £1,000. However, given the great variety of models and associated services, it’s recommended to request as many office water cooler quotes as possible.
