What is a network camera?

A network camera or IP camera is a device which uses a local or wide area network (the Internet, for example) to carry data, rather than wiring.

Network cameras communicate with their bases using Wifi. 

Data recorded can be stored internally or on the Internet (in the cloud or on a dedicated server). It is then possible to view theses recordings using a special application or a web browser: you can therefore view the images from any computer or smartphone connected to the Internet. Even better, if the camera detects an anomaly, it can send you an email automatically to inform you.

Simple to install, this CCTV surveillance system is easily upgradeable since you can add cameras to your installation without having to call a technician.
