Do fresh products sold in a vending machine enjoy the same preservation conditions as items bought in supermarkets?

The preservation of fresh products sold in vending machines is subjected to strict regulations. This preservation, in a temperature-controlled environment, applies to:

  • ready-meals,
  • sandwiches,
  • salads,
  • pastries,
  • breads.

End-to-end cold chain must be respected for all fresh products as well as for any other item, with specific temperature for every refrigerated tray.

Sandwiches are the most sensitive products. Under applicable legislation, they are considered highly perishable food items, with a high risk of germ proliferation in case temperature control is lost, even for a short period of time. They must be stored at a maximum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius.
