Is it better to buy or lease a printer?

It all depends on your budget and your requirements.

Renting a photocopier (or leasing it) is a fairly expensive solution, but it allows you to regularly renew your equipment, and possibly benefit from a maintenance service throughout the duration of the contract. In addition, rental fees (which are tax-deductible for a business) are set in advance, which helps avoid unpleasant surprises.

Buying a photocopier is an investment that can pay off quickly, as long as it is possible to recover VAT. However, hardware quickly becomes obsolete, and unless you regularly buy new equipment, your office does not take advantage of new technology. In addition, because it’s a simple purchase, maintenance is not included in the acquisition budget and may, if problems arise, increase this budget. In addition, after eight years, it becomes difficult to find spare parts.

More and more photocopier suppliers offer installing and maintenance services of printing equipment in addition to selling it. On-site interventions are included and usually take place very quickly. This kind of service is automatically part of the package when you opt for the leasing of a photocopier.
