What are the most frequent causes of copier breakdowns?
Among the failures that occur relatively frequently on a photocopier, the following can be found:
- memory saturation: in general, this problem can be solved without the intervention of a technician as all you have to do is delete documents saved on the device's onboard memory,
- oxidisation of a heating element: the part must then be replaced by a professional,
- blown fuse: it needs to be replacement,
- but also a short-circuit of the static relay, a drum or photoconductor problem, a faulty power supply board or a control board...
A copier can also stop functioning as a result of improper maintenance of consumables or improper adjustment. To avoid this type of hazard, preventive maintenance is strongly recommended. This must be carried out by a specialist service provider under a maintenance contract.
